It’s a call to arms, a rallying cry for anyone who gets it: in a world ruled by AI, privacy isn’t just important—it’s the foundation, the equal (and sometimes greater) pillar to security. So, join us. This is your chance to make noise, have fun, and fight for a future where privacy matters as much as innovation.

Welcome to Privacy Village, where the brightest minds and the most passionate hearts unite to redefine what privacy means in the modern world. This is more than a gathering—it's a festival of innovation, collaboration, and creativity. Here, privacy isn't just a principle; it's a celebration, a shared passion, and a living, breathing community effort.
Because privacy is too important to be boring. The most creative people, from startups to academia, from engineers to lawyers, come together here to celebrate privacy through collaboration. From Dungeons & Dragons-inspired board games about privacy dilemmas to privacy engineering competitions, and even capture-the-flag challenges, this is the epicenter of privacy innovation. Together, we are building a global network that spans continents and disciplines to reimagine privacy as accessible, exciting, and essential.
It began with the Creative Privacy Framework—a bold initiative to bridge the gap between privacy law and technology. Our first major leap was the Hitchhiker’s Guide to Privacy Engineering: a handbook that empowered privacy lawyers to understand technology, converse confidently with technical teams, and evaluate the data privacy implications of emerging technologies.

Then, in 2023, we turned privacy into a game. We hosted a privacy treasure hunt with early adopters of the HGPE newsletter. Fifty pioneers—from Carnegie Mellon privacy engineering students to law firms across Europe, America, and Canada—joined forces to uncover the joy and challenge of privacy problem-solving.

In 2024, we dreamed bigger, creating the prototype for Privacy Village. It was a testing ground for experimental formats like workshops, games, and competitions, proving that privacy could be celebrated in dynamic, creative ways. These successes laid the foundation for this year's festival.
